Children's Music Ministries

Drumming Circle

The Drumming Circle meets every Sunday at Noon in the Choir Room. All drums welcome

The Youth & Senior High Choir

The Youth Choir is for youth in grades 5-8 and rehearses Sundays from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. This choir builds on the curriculum following in the younger choirs, expanding the chorister’s knowledge of music theory, ear training, vocal technique, repertoire, and the role of a music ministry in the church. This group also takes the lead in the dramatic productions put on by our children’s program.

The Senior High Choir is for teenagers in grades 9-12 and also rehearses Sunday mornings from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. In these rehearsals we continue our music and music ministry training, and also explore about how music functions in our spiritual lives and in the lives of those around us. We also focus our attention on singing in parts, preparing us for singing with our two adult choirs, the Chancel Choir and the Pick-up Choir.

The Junior Choir

The Junior Choir, with kids in grades 3 and 4, rehearses each Tuesday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Each rehearsal is filled with learning music for worship, music theory, and proper vocal technique, through games and other activities. The last 15 minutes of our time together is spent with the Alleluia Choir in fellowship and snack.

Alleluia Choir

The Alleluia Choir is made up of children in kindergarten through second grade (children who attend full-day pre-kindergarten are also welcome) who like to sing and want to further their love for music. We rehearse each Tuesday from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. We start each rehearsal with 15 minutes of fellowship and snack time with our Junior Choir. The rest of our time together we sing songs and play games, learning repertoire for worship and drama productions, singing techniques, and the basics of reading music.

Cherub Choir

The Cherub Choir is the youngest group of musicians at the church and rehearses every Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. Our parents/caregivers join us for a 30 minute rehearsal, and often joining afterward for fellowship. Each rehearsal is full of singing, movement, and games, as we learn sacred and secular songs and basic music concepts, using our voices, bodies, and instruments.

CHILDREN’S MUSIC MINISTRIES ARE OFF TO A GREAT START!
